I joined Toastmasters in February 2011. Since then, I have learned how to communicate better.
August 2012 I started learning Spanish as a second language. I understand how hard it is to learn a second language.
Language challenges:
- Word pronunciation
- Our native languages use the tongue differently.
- Word gender issues
- Is the noun masculine or feminine?
- Is the verb masculine or feminine?
- Plural verses Singular forms of the word
- Verb Conjugation
- Spanish idioms
It’s challenging to learn a second language.
Reasons why English learners should join Toastmasters:
First, members learn by example. Every meeting there are excellent examples of English communication at all levels.
Second, members learn through practice. There are countless opportunities to practice your communication skills with others who will help you improve.
Third, members learn with positive feedback. Have you ever wondered how well you are sharing your ideas in English?
Toastmasters is the perfect group to work on your communication skills.
Finally, members build self-esteem. As members progress through the Toastmaster program, they receive projects to complete. These projects are designed to help improve different aspects of communication. By the time you are finished with the projects, you have learned how to communicate with more than just words. You learn how to be more interesting to your audience whoever they are.
Hopefully, I have convinced you that Toastmasters International would be a great investment of your time.
