Wes Johnson completes 1st Level of Pathways Project

Wes Johnson receives his certificate for completing Level 1 of his 1st Pathways Project.

Wes is the first member of the Club to complete Level 1 of the new Pathways Learning Experience Program through Toastmasters International. Wes is working through the Motivational Strategies Path. Pathways was launched for District 39 in late September 2017. Wes serves the club as Vice President for Public Relations and serves District 39 as Assistant Director of Club Growth.

Both Rick and Wes completed their final speech for Level 1 of their first Pathways Project. Congratulations gentlemen!

Daniel kept us on our toes with his Christmas themed Table Topics: “Would you rather (this or that)”

Renee showed her skills as an evaluator, winning Best Evaluator for the evening.

 

Bernadette Medeiros -our newest member – had some beginners fortune, winning the Best Table Topics Speaker.

Rick Santos led our meeting with the precision of the experienced Toastmaster that he is.

Daniel Blunt gave his 1st speech – “A Glimpse of Me”. Congratulations to Daniel!

Jim Prestwood gave “More Sea Stories” on a trip to Galapagos Islands.

Jill Allen led Table Topics with a Continuing Story. All had fun adding to this ongoing tale.

Open House on October 5, 2017

Manteca Leadership Club held and Open House on Oct 5. Colin McKechnie from Manteca Smooth Talkers was our guest speaker. We had several guests who attended and look forward to them returning at a future meeting.

Darlene Crockett showed her advanced Toastmasters skills by winning the Table Topics Award for the evening.

Thank you Colin for a wonderful speech, “Climb to the top of the Mountain”, about climbing the two highest peaks – Mt Everest and K2. Quite inspiring!

Jim’s speech was titled “Sea Stories” and was about close encounters with sea life.

Eddie’s Table Topics was an either or choice that had many of us scrambling. What a great challenge!

Eddie gave his Ice Breaker (his 1st Toastmasters speech) tonight. It was truly a heart warming story.

David Cushman made Table Topics fun by bringing fortune cookies from Panda Express. Our topics were based on our individual fortunes.

Dani Sansoni made it a family affair by winning Best Table Topics Speaker. She came as a visitor to the club to support Eddie’s speech, but Dani is showing she has what it takes to be a Toastmaster.
